Showcased at Auto Expo India 2012, the Premier Rio will be available in petrol and diesel variants in India market. The diesel model features a 1.5L, 1489cc, Turbo diesel engine that produces 65PS of maximum power at 4000rpm with 152Nm of maximum torque at 2250rpm. The Petrol units SUV have a four cylinder 1173cc, 77 PS power. The car can come in the following colors: Royal Black, Sleek Silver, Cool Blue, Brick Red, and Tefeta White.
Premier Rio SUV is designed to deliver more mileage than any other rivals of the SUV segment. With the 4 cylinder petrol engine and BSIII technology powered engine, the Premier Rio SUV provides a fuel efficiency of 12.5 kmpl. The mileage of the Premier Rio petrol is 16 kmpl or 12 kmpl with the 1489cc diesel engine.

Both the petrol and diesel models come with a five speed manual gearbox. For the petrol variant, you should expect an acceleration that can reach the 100 kmph from zero in 18 seconds. The diesel variant, on the other hand, accelerates to 100kmph in just 19 seconds. The top speed expected for this car is 145 kmph.
The car also features Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), disc brakes on the front wheels. And Drum type brakes on the rear wheels. Premium packages will be sold with a Brake Assist, in order to help to keep the intensity of braking high. The wheelbase measures 2420 mm and tyres size measures up to 205/70 R15. The car is rear wheel driven comes with a 15-inch alloy wheels.
