Finally Sony has brought forth Sony Xperia Ion without Ericsson at its back. This light weight device has 4.6” wide LED-backlit LCD capacitive touchscreen with a slight curved back. Talking about its dedicated buttons, the phone has MicroHDMI port and MicroUSB port.
The device has 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 12 MP rear camera that gives incredible video and picture clarity. Its camera hardly takes two seconds to switch from standby mode to image capture mode. It has high pixel resolution as 1280 x 720 pixels. The phone has 16GB of internal memory and will support LTE connectivity.
The phone has Android OS, v2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system which is upgradeable to Ice-cream Sandwich (4.0). It supports Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G LTE (100Mbps DL & 50Mpbps UL), Bluetooth, GPRS, Edge connectivity.
Also, the device has other major features like Accelerometer, compass, proximity, gyro, 3D sweep panorama and Scratch-resistant glass. Did I forget to mention that Sony Xperia Ion supports newest connectivity capabilities like HDMI port and compatible dock cable?
Despite the company revealed most of the technical specifications, the price of phone is still not disclosed. But the rumors are ablaze that the phone will hit the markets in the second quarter of 2012.
